The Essential Oil House

Opificio Olfattiva is based in Massa Lombarda, in the heart of Romagna. Here, aromatherapy and botanical perfumery products are created, designed for the well-being of individuals and their surrounding environment. We carefully select the best essential oils from around the world from producers with whom we have a very close relationship.

For over twenty years, we have been dedicated to subtle and functional aromatherapy: the essential oil is the soul of the plant. Sun, water, earth, and subtle energies become matter and re-engage with humans through scent.

A place for research, even more than for sales

Olfattiva means research. We work alongside naturopaths, herbalists, and botanists, and we are personally involved in distillation and aromatherapy. Within the Opificio, we have also collected a small library of aromatherapy and holistic disciplines, because, for us, spreading the culture of well-being is as much a part of our work as processing plants.

Every product created here is packaged entirely by hand, following the indications of the Lunar Calendar, a step that remains essential for us to accompany the stability of the fragrance and preserve its most subtle quality. While we work, we also take care of our thoughts: we believe in the law of resonance, whereby every gesture and every intention leaves a trace in matter. This is why we want our products to contain both a good formula and good information.

Meeting, training, discussion

We believe that every place, with its own energy, influences what is born there. L'Opificio is not just the space where Olfattiva products take shape: it is a place for meeting, growth, discussion, and training, designed for those who wish to approach aromatherapy and "get their hands dirty", learning directly from those who work with plants every day.

Are the products organic?

90% of our products are organic or biodynamic.

Olfattiva is certified AIAB Bio Eco Cosmesi and Vegan OK. Our cosmetic formulations are tested on volunteers at the University of Ferrara's Center of Cosmetology, and we exclusively use raw materials of plant origin, without any animal derivatives: an ethical choice even before it is a technical one, consistent with how we feel about our work.
